Sekondi/Takoradi mourn the loss former Vice President Many people in the Sekondi/Takoradi Metropolis have expressed shock and grief over the sudden death of Ghana’s sixth Vice President, Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur. They said his death was a huge loss to the country and some of them could not hold back their tears. The former Vice President reportedly collapsed whilst exercising at the Air Force Mess Gymnasium, rushed to the 37 Military Hospital and he was pronounced dead. This happened in the early hours of Friday. A cross section of people in an interview paid tribute to his gentle nature, humility and civility. Madam Ekua Forson, a trader, said the former Vice President served his nation well. She reminded public office holders to have time for their health by going for regular checks. Mr. Joseph Assifuah of the Nkenya unit Committee prayed that he found eternal rest with the Lord. The late Amissah-Arthur, an economist, academic and politician served as Vice President from August 06, 2012, to January 07, 2017. He also at different points in time served as Governor of the Bank of Ghana and Deputy for Finance and Economic Planning.
