New vehicles to provide insurance cover during registration- VEEP Bawumia

In a few months, all new vehicle registration at the DVLA will be required to provide the vehicle insurance cover before a vehicle licence is issued. 

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who gave the hint in Accra said the move which is part of government's digitisation agenda will not only make road usage safer but also ensure that all vehicles on the roads are adequately insured to cater for any eventualities. 

He added that the DVLA and the insurance companies have been given a couple of months to ensure the successful roll out of the initiative.
