China, Africa pledge to deepen cooperation, development ties China and Africa have jointly declared five strategic agenda to further deepen media exchanges and cooperation to enhance holistic development in Africa and China. The two sides made the declaration at the end of the 4th Forum on China-Africa Media Cooperation in Beijing, China. They have agreed to cooperate in key sectors of media development to ensure win-win engagements in the projection of the challenges and opportunities in Africa and China. The Parties declared to intensify policy dialogues, explore communication ideas and administrative systems that are peculiar to developing countries and create favourable conditions for innovative development and in-depth cooperation between Chinese and African media. They pledged to strongly uphold the Silk Road spirit of peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, Mutual learning and benefits, make the best of media's advantage in cultural exchanges and Communications. The two sides also want to move forward the connectivity between the Belt and Road Initiative and the 2063 Agenda of the African Union as well as the development strategies of African countries and allow Chinese and Africa people to share development opportunities and fruits. The Chinese and African media have committed to presenting timely, accurate and panoramic coverage of China-Africa cooperation and update economic and social development of China and African countries while actively promoting the cooperation in an all-round manner in the new era. They agreed to back each other and deliver joint voices in addressing issues on major regional and international affairs so as to collectively create a sound international public opinion and communication order in favour of development in developing countries to enhance their survival. The Chinese and African media also promised to enhance cooperation in key sectors such as news coverage, content production and channel development as well as continue to support media digitalization and capacity building in African countries, promote timely sharing of development experience, programme production, technical services and talent training so as to deepen industrial cooperation and strive to launch more practical and efficient projects, providing inexhaustible impetus for the win-win cooperation. They further undertake to shoulder the responsibility as media while making the best of advantages and work together to build an even closer community of shared future for China and Africa with join hands. Participants at the Forum pledged to call upon the International community to further foster the concept of a community of shared future for mankind and play a greater constructive role in building a peaceful, safe, prosperous, open and beautiful World.
