President Akufo-Addo leaves Ghana to mediate in Togo political crisis

President Akufo-Addo last night left Accra for Lome, Togo, to facilitate the dialogue aimed at resolving the ongoing political crisis in that country. 

As mandated by ECOWAS, the  President has been tasked to engage the feuding parties.

It is not the first time President Akufo Addo embarked on such journey. 

In February this year, President Akufo-Addo facilitated a meeting together with other African leaders aimed at finding a lasting solution to the political impasse in Togo.

He met with the Togolese government and the Coalition of 14 Opposition political parties.

They agreed to implement a number of measures aimed at building trust and confidence amongst the political actors in Togo.

A statement signed by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin said President Akufo-Addo will return to Ghana today.
