'Planting for Food and Jobs' will augment activities of farmers - Dr. Afriyie Akoto The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto has defended Ghanaian farmers, saying they are not lazy, rather inadequate support from governments over the years have undermined their ability to increase productivity. Taking his turn at the ‘Meet-the- Press’ series in Accra, Dr. Afriyie Akoto said, despite the country's fertile land, importation of rice and other crops is still very high.
