The Ghanaian Times congratulates President Akufo-Addo for introducing the Presidential Pitch Programme in support of business startups. The Times applauds the initiative but urged government to put in place measures to monitor the progress of the businesses and provide timely solutions to challenges they may face. 

The Daily Heritage believes the canker of incumbency abuse by governing parties has plagued Ghana since 1992 when the nation accepted multi-party democracy. This in the paper's view has come about because political parties fail to push for the passage of the Public Funding of Political Parties' Bill of 2018. The bill when passed will ensure that parties are funded and they will intend account for the resources. The Heritage in this respect adds its voice to calls for the passage of the Bill in order to check incumbency abuse.

GRAPHIC: We think the decision of the Ministry of Health to publish the names of the defaulters to the health sector vehicle ownership scheme to get them to refund the loan is laudable. But it should go beyond that to ascertain how the beneficiaries defaulted in the repayment. The paper says anybody whose underhand dealings or negligence of duty might have led to that situation should be sanctioned to serve as a deterrent to others. It urges MOH to name and shame abusers of the scheme.
