Presidential Commission Recommends Creation Of Six New Regions

The Commission of Inquiry into proposals for the creation of new regions has recommended additional six regions. 

This was disclosed when the Commission led by its Chairman, Former Supreme Court Judge, Justice Alan Brobbey presented its report to President Akufo-Addo, in Accra. 

The six additional regions which will bring the total number of regions to 16 are: Oti, out of the Volta, Ahafo and Bono East from Brong Ahafo, Western North out of the Western Region, North East and Savanna from the current Northern region.

At a brief ceremony at the Jubilee House, President Akufo-Addo was optimistic that the creation of the new regions will bring governance closer to the people and accelerate development.
