Zimbabwean political parties sign 'peace pledge'

Political parties and candidates contesting next month's (July) elections in Zimbabwe have signed a 'peace pledge' today (June 26) as a sign of their commitment to maintain peace before, during and after the polls. 

The National Peace and Reconciliation Commission Chairman, Justice Selo Maselo Nare said the 'peace pledge' is part or efforts to prevent violence and conflict in the forthcoming elections.

He said the peace pledge would allow citizens to hold political players accountable for their actions.
