Seek More Information On Imported Products Before Patronage - Prof. Agyeman Badu Akosa

A former Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Prof. Agyeman Badu Akosa has advised Ghanaians to always seek more information on imported products before patronising them. 

This is because most of these imported goods bare little or no information on the production process, a situation which makes their consumption dangerous. 

Prof. Akosa made the remark when he addressed students of the University of Ghana Medical School at Korle-Bu in Accra.  

To mark its 20th Anniversary, the 1998 year group of the University of Ghana Medical School held a symposium at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital to support their alma matter. 

The programme was dubbed ‘The double burden communicable and non-communicable disease, a call to action.”  

Prof. Akosa said Ghanaians need to do thorough investigations on imported products before patronising them to safeguard their health.

In a presentation, the Programmes Manager of the National Aids Control Programme, Dr Stephen Ayisi Addo urged all stakeholders to be part of the call to action so that these communicable and non-communicable diseases can be reduced.
