Water scientist expresses disappointment over heavy infestation of aquatic weeds in Volta Lake

Former Director of the Institute of Aquatic Biology, now Water Research Institute, WRI, Dr. Leticia Obeng, says Ghana has disappointed the world for allowing the Volta Lake to be heavily infested with aquatic weeds. 

She said it is a shame for the largest man-made lake in the world to be covered with water hyacinth. 

Dr. Leticia Obeng at an Open Day of the Water Research Institute, passionately appealed to the WRI to go all out to get government to clear the lake of weeds, since her numerous petitions to previous governments were fruitless.
