Task Force to get children off streets set up

The Minister of Gender and Social Protection, Otiko Afisah Djaba says a task force to get children off the streets has been set up. 

Speaking to Radio Ghana in Parliament after making a statement to mark the day of the African child, Madam Afisah Djaba said it behoves society to protect children. 

He charged religious leaders not to infringe on the rights of children in the name of deliverance. Minister of Gender and Social Protection, Otiko Afisah Djaba. 

The day of the African child is marked on June 16 in memory of hundreds of children who were killed on the streets of Soweto, South Africa, in 1976 while protesting the inferior education they were being given during the country's apartheid era.
