Lands Commission to ensure strict compliance of licensing regime The Lands Commission says it will ensure strict compliance of its licensing regime to weed the system of fake surveyors. Furthermore, licensed surveyors are to renew their license each year and the names of those in good standing publish in the print media for the public to know those to do business with. The Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission Dr. Wilfred Anim-Odame who said this a meeting with licensed surveyors in Accra also announced that the Lands Commission is going to enforce instrument testing, calibration and registration of all licensed surveyors in compliance with the law. Dr. Anim-Odame the commission will not compromise on the practice of some members fronting for unqualified persons when it comes to it bar coded plan approval. He said currently the average turnaround for plan approval is between ten to 15 days this he said the commission is working on to bring it to 3 or 5 days. The President of the Licensed Surveyors Kwame Tenadu said they have been receiving letters from the police CID everyday to authenticate the work of one surveyor or the other. This he noted does not augur well for them because so many fake surveyors have penetrated their fold. He said as a group they will not allow some few charlatans to destroy their profession.
