GMA calls for right priorities in Ghana's emergency delivery system

The Ghana Medical Association says it is time Ghana gets its priorities right as far as emergency in medicare is concerned throughout the country.

Speaking to Radio Ghana on the 'no bed' issue which resulted in the death of late Anthony Opoku Acheampong, the President of the Association, Dr. Titus Beyuo, said the current gap in the supply of equipment and other medical resources must be addressed by government.  

Dr. Beyuo also touched on the nation's ambulance system and called for an integrated system as well as a complete change of attitude by nurses, doctors and other health workers.

He also reacted to reports that some Doctors are spending more time at their private clinics and even taking equipment from government hospitals to their clinics. 

Dr. Beyuo asked the Ministry to also strengthen supervision to ensure that doctors strictly abide by the ethics of the medical profession.
