High living standards cause of 50 percent increments of student’s loan


The Student Loan Trust says the 50 percent increment of Loans is as a result of the high living standards of students in the various tertiary institutions.  

Director of Communication at the Student Loan Trust, George Lain said, the increment is across board for all tertiary students.  

Speaking to Radio Ghana's Felix Cofie, he said before the disbursement the Trust undertakes a need accessment of applicants to know if they truly need the loan before granting the application.  

He said the Trust has put in place mechanisms for recovery.  Mr. Lain, said last month alone the Trust was able to increase the recovery rate by 48 percent.
