An Accra District Court presided has ordered for the medical records of the Obenfo hospital


An Accra District Court presided over by Efua Sackey has ordered for the medical records of the embattled medical practitioner, and Director of the Obenfo hospital, Dr Dominic Obeng Andoh. 

This was after Prosecutor, Chief Inspector Simon Appiorsornu pleaded with the court to send an order to the Medical Director of the Ridge Hospital where Dr. Dominic Obeng Andoh has been admitted to give a comprehensive report on the health history of the accused person. 

The Medical Director is expected to also specifically state the progress of the accused person as to whether he is fit to be in court. 

The order follows the accused person's failure to attend court. Prosecution stubmitted that the accused person was hiding under the pretence of ill health, adding that there is no medical record to ascertain the accused person has been diagnosed of any form of sickness and cannot stand on his feet. 

Chief Inspector Appiorsornu said contrary to indications by the Medical Director of the Ridge Hospital that Dr Obeng Andoh could be in Court, the accused person simply refused to show up with the excuse that he was unwell. 

He tendered in a letter by the Circuit Court whose content said Dr Obeng Andoh was giving same excuses to appear before the Circuit Court. 

The Prosecution has since written to the Ghana Medical and Dental Council to furnish the police with some documents to help with the investigation. 

Meanwhile the autopsy report of Stacy Offei Darko is scheduled to be made available on the next adjourned date, the19th of this month.
