Produce medical records - District Court orders embattled medical practitioner An Accra District Court presided over by Efua Sackey has ordered for the medical records of the embattled medical practitioner, and Director of the Obenfo hospital, Dr. Dominic Obeng Andoh. This was after Prosecutor, Chief Inspector Simon Appiorsornu pleaded with the court to send an order to the medical director of the Ridge Hospital where Dr. Dominic Kwame Obeng Andoh has been admitted to give a comprehensive report on the health history of the accused person. The Medical director should also specifically state the progress of accused person whether he is fit to be in court. The order was made after the accused person absented himself from court. Prosection stated that the accused person was hiding under the pretence of ill health and further stated that there is no medical record to ascertain that accused person has been diagnosed of any form of sickness and cannot stand on his feet. He further stated that when the investigator went to the Ridge hospital where he has been admitted, the accused person refused to appear in court claiming that he was not well whereas the administrator and medical director of the hospital say otherwise. The prosecutor presented a letter to the court where the circuit court had also ordered for the presence of the accused person who is using the same modus. The prosecutor therefore prayed that the court order the medical director of the Ridge hospital to furnish the court with a comprehensive report on the health affairs of accused person. He further stated that the autopsy of deceased Stacy Offei Darko is scheduled to be available on the next adjourned date and has also written to the Ghana Medical and Dental Council to furnish the police with some documents to help with the investigation. Defence Counsel Jonathan Dzaisu, vehemently opposed to all that prosecution said about accused person not being sick but hiding under the cover of admission and ill health not to be present. Counsel stated that he had no objection to the prosecutor's plea for a comprehensive report of accused person's health. He further stated that accused person was to be present in court but his situation degenerated in the morning therefore causing his absence. Dr. Dominic Obeng Andoh has been charged by the district court for murder. The case has been adjourned to the 19th of this month. GBCONLINE ---DECRYPTED---
