U/E Ramadan Tour: Veep Dr. Bawumia sure of speedy development under NDA On the Northern Development Authority, Dr. Bawumia said a board will soon be set up to actualise its full implementation. He therefore charged the leadership of the authority to remain committed to the execution of their mandate. The Vice President proceeded to the Navrongo Central Mosque where he joined his Muslim brothers and sisters to offer prayers and thanksgiving to God. With him was the Upper East Regional Minister, Rockson Bukari. His next stop was at Zebilla in the Bawku West District. Here the Vice President after joining the Muslim congregation to say prayers, solicited the support of all in helping the government realise its development agenda. At Bawku, the Vice President and his entourage were given a rousing welcome amidst heavy security presence. The Overlord of the Kusaug Traditional Area, Zugran Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka, appealed to government to expedite action of the 116km Bolga-Bawku-Pulmakum highway which remain his number one priority. Other issues brought to the fore include chieftaincy as well as mining and land related matters. Bawku Naba, however, prevailed on government to assist in that regard. In reaction, Dr. Bawumia expressed government’s resolve to facilitate the speedy completion of the stretch. Accompanied by the Vice President were a number of high profile personalities in government including District and Municipal Chief Executives as well as party functionaries. Key among them was the Minister for Zongo Development and Inner-City, Boniface Abubakar Saddique.
