Ghana First Ideology Very Urgent for National Development

There is the urgent need for Ghanaians, irrespective of political or cultural lineage to put Ghana first in all they do as their contribution to the development of the country. 

Also there is the need to learn to change attitudes as was addressed by the late first President Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. 

This change should manifest itself in the educational system of Ghana. 

English, a colonial language, being the primary language of education, should not prevent the citizenry from acknowledging the native languages in schools. 

As the saying goes, "knowledge is power," and so educating the citizenry should be the hallmark of the nation. 

No child, being able or disabled should be left behind under any circumstance.
 
Education should not be based only on academics, but also the teaching of Civic Duty, which We must educate, and to abhor corruption at all levels.
 
What will it take to make Ghana First a reality? As citizens of Ghana, we should equip ourselves about how to identify efficient, enlightened, honest and hardworking people and vote them into Office. 

Our teachers at all levels need retraining. We must begin to sanitized the modus operandi of our governance. 

Our modern day governance has been tarnished by lies and deceit. 

The sooner we recognize the effects of corruption and mismanagement on the nation's development the better it would be for us to rectify the situation. 

In a democracy, no one Party can implement the needed changes for progress. Compromises will help us to move the country forward. 

Ghana needs shot term and long term plans and action to bring about change and development. 

In any developing country where institutions such as, the Judiciary, the Police Force, Parliament and the Media are not effective due to corruption, the practice of democracy becomes distorted and ineffective. 

The majority of the people suffer due to poverty and lack of basic amenities. 

Even though Democracy is defined as an institution of the people by the people, the few who vote have entrusted a selected few to govern the country. 

It is our Civic responsibility to hold them accountable for any corruption, mismanagement that cause underdevelopment and financial loss to the country. 

In conclusion, our current situation looks frightening. Daily information does not give hope to the ordinary citizen. 

Our political system is polarized and there is no corroboration for the common good. 

It's not too late to bring about changes. 

Let us challenge ourselves with a united front to bring about changes for development. 

We now live in a global village where no single country can thrive without the help of others. 

If we cannot take care of ourselves to benefit from our enviable wealth as a country, we should not expect to accomplish much like the developed countries. 

Let us begin by valuing who we are and appreciate what we have. 

Let us put GHANA FIRST above everything except God and we will see how prosperous we will become.
