Nation builders Corp takes off in August - Veep Dr. Bawumia

The Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has stated that, the Nation Builders Corp will take off in August with every district getting at least  350 NABCO Operatives under the various  modules.  

Alhaji Dr. Bawumia further called for Prayers for the Government as it strives to fulfill all its promises to give Ghanaians a better life.   

He was speaking during a day's visit to the Bono-Ahafo Region, during which he worshiped and interacted with Colleague Moslems at Dormaa Ahenkro, Berekum and Wenchi on how they are faring as they observe the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Moslems are observing the holy month of Ramadan and the Vice President is touring the Country to worship and interact with the Faithful at this crucial time.  

The Vice President kick started his time in Bono-Ahafo at Dormaa Ahenkro with a courtesy call on the Dormaahene, Osagyefo Agyemang Badu.  

He was accompanied by the Bono-Ahafo Regional Minister, Kwaku Asoma Cheremeh, the Minister of Health and MP for Dormaa Central, Kwaku Agyemang Manu, as well as the Minister for Inner Cities and Zongo Development, Alhaji Abubakar Boniface  among others.  

Welcoming him, Osagyefo Agyemang Badu commended the Vice President for his sterling output since he burst onto the Political scene.  

He further praised the Government for the Free SHS Programme, saying it has brought relief to many families.  

He also expressed his happiness over the Government's determined fight against illegal mining. 

The Vice President for his part promised that Government will revive stalled projects in the area like the cocoa roads and the construction of the UENR satellite campus at Dormaa Ahenkro.  

He further said the Zongo development Fund has been resourced and will soon start projects in the Zongos.

Earlier, the Dormaa Zongo Chief, Sheik Zachariah Ibrahim in an address called for a second look at the fixing of National Farmers Day on the first Friday of December since it is not convenient for Moslems.

The Vice President and his Entourage were next at Berekum.  

The Vice President called on the Omanhene, Daasebre Amankona Diawou before joining Moslems at the Central Mosque for Prayers.  

Addressing him the Omanhene of Berekum described his visit as historic as no President or Vice President has visited the area in the last 17 years.  

He then urged Dr. Bawumia to personally intervene to get Berekum Town roads reconstructed.  

Wenchi has one the biggest Moslem Communities in Bono-Ahafo and so it was fitting that the it was the last place the Vice President visited.  

At all the mosques, the Vice President donated cash and bags of rice and sugar to the Faithful. 

He also donated bags of cement for the construction of some of the mosques at Wenchi and Berekum. 

Again, everywhere the People took the opportunity to make requests. 

These include help to establish Islamic Senior High Schools and Teacher Training Colleges and upgrading of the Berekum Islamic Clinic.
