The Ghanaian Times extends its warmest felicitations to all BECE candidates as they begin the exams today and commends teachers for preparing the students adequately for the examinations. The paper urges candidates to eschew all forms of examination malpractices. The Times further urges parents to psych up of their wards for the examination so they refrain from vices such as cheating. It further applauds WAEC for the changes in policy this year where candidates can only have the opportunity to select their choice of Senior High Schools after the examinations. The Policy, the Times believes is a good one and urges the Ministry of Education and the GES to ensure the smooth selection of schools by the candidates after the examinations.

The Daily Graphic acknowledges the success of the Electoral Commission since its inception. However, the paper is worried about current happenings in the electoral body which it says do not portray its huge responsibility for ensuring peace, stability and development of the country. The paper therefore calls on the Chairperson to demonstrate leadership by building good relationship with her subordinates, while urging the Deputy Chairpersons to support their leader with the necessary respect to ensure the EC bounces back. It also urges government to provide adequate resources for the Commission.
