FDA to prosecute Ghanaian, foreign nationals for selling Tramadol 

Some Nigerians and Ghanaians nationals have been arrested by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and have been processed for court for the wholesale and retail of Tramadol.

According to the FDA, it will continue to swoop on those who sell the drug so that they are dealt with.  

Director of Communications at the Food and Drugs Authority, James Lartey said the drug tramadol is smuggled into the country and therefore it is difficult to identity an individual or company who imports it.

Mr. Lartey said the Food and Drugs Authority and the Ghana Immigration Service have intensified surveillance at the country's borders especially the unapproved routes to check those who smuggle the drug into the country.
