GJA condemns ‘fake’ Anas photos; calls 24-hour protection for him

The Ghana journcalists Association (GJA) has urged the public to ignore images on television and social media  purported to be the pictures of ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The Association describes the images as nothing but misleading and rather putting the lives of other persons at risk. 

A statement signed by the President of the Association, Roland Affail Monney, called on the security agencies to provide a 24-hour protection for Mr. Anas and all his interests, including his family and property. 

The statement said sources close to the ace investigative journalist, reports of receiving messages containing threats of death, unidentified persons tracking his office and other locations ostensibly to harm him.

The GJA  asked the security agencies not allow aggrieved and disgruntled individuals to endanger the life of this patriotic citizen of Ghana, who , at a every young age, has rendered invaluable services to the nation.

The Association urged individuals who were affected by the works of Mr. Anas to seek legal redress. 

The GJA further lauded the work of Mr. Anas and pledged its support to the internationally acclaimed investigative journalist.
