First Lady cuts sod for construction of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Korle-Bu

The First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo Addo has cut sod for the construction of an ultra modern pediatric intensive care unit at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. 

The new facility has become necessary due to the inability of the existing structure to cater for the over 30 thousand patients who attend the facility each year. 

The old children’s block which did not have a pediatric unit was constructed more than fifty years ago, but has since not seen any major refurbishment.

Mrs Rebecca Akufo Addo said the new facility will ensure that children are protected and given the  best care.
