DPSI Tema Honours Brilliant Students He said the awards were based on the students' sterling academic performances. DPSI has over the years consistently presented its students with such awards as a way of encouraging them to take their academic and extracurricular activities seriously. It would be recalled that in October 2017, the school honoured a total of 52 of its students. About 19 of those students were awarded certificates for excelling in the Model United Nations (MUN) event held by the Tema International School (TIS) in that year. Gold, bronze and silver medals were also given out to about 32 students in October in recognition of their brilliant performance in the 2017 edition of the Streamline Aquatics Limited (SAL) Swim Series held at the Tesano Sports Club. Mr. Thakwani told journalists on the sidelines of the May 17, 2018 awards ceremony that the school shall "continue to strive for the best." He seized the opportunity to urge the students to continue to take their academic works seriously, disclosing that a series of extracurricular events such as a sporting tournament, spelling bee competition, among others, have been lined up for the year. In attendance at the ceremony were faculty members and Headmaster of DPSI Tema, David Raj, who could not hide his excitement about the way his students continue to excel in their studies.
