Asante Mampong Hospital Management assures staff members of continuos that with the support Management of the Asante Mampong Government Hospital has assured staff members that with the support of the Management Advisory Committee, it will continue to explore ways to further expand their welfare packages, notwithstanding the difficult financial position of the facility. Management will also adopt pragmatic measures and strategies to respond to the health needs of residents of Asante Mampong and its environs. These came to light at the hospital’s best staff awards ceremony at Asante Mampong. The durbar recognized the outstanding contributions of some members of staff toward the provision of health services to the people of Asante Mampong in 2017. A casual worker attached to the hospital’s Administration Department, Mr. Eric Asante was adjudged the overall best worker. He received 32-inch Samsung LED TV set, citation and a cheque for one thousand Ghana Cedis. A staff nurse, Mr. John Bonga was adjudged the first runner up and took home a table-top fridge, citation and 800 Ghana Cedis, while the second runner up award went to a midwife, Miss Jennifer Asuoko. She took home a microwave oven in addition to 600 Ghana Cedis. The Member of Parliament for the area, Mr. Ampratwum Sarpong donated the cash awards for the award beneficiaries. Management of the hospital dedicated the staff durbar to also interact with its stakeholders, as a way of creating a friendly forum for the hospital to share its experiences and afford members of staff the opportunity to seek clarifications and answers from those who are to support them to deliver quality health care to the people of Mampong and its environs. The Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Asamoah Nyarko-Jectey said ways will be continually explored to further improve staff welfare. He said staff whose attitudes toward work were inconsistent with the code of conduct and disciplinary procedures of the Ghana Health Service were referred to the disciplinary committee for appropriate sanctions to be prescribed. This, Dr. Nyarko-Jectey said helped to instil some discipline among staff, thereby generating positive attitudes. The administrator of the hospital Collins Kesse expressed concerned about frequent shortage of water at the facility and has urged government and other benevolent organisations to come to their aid.
