Let unity and order prevail - Kofi Dzamesi to Ga Chiefs

The Minister of Chieftaincy and Traditional Affairs, Kofi Dzamesi, has advised the Chiefs and Queens of Ngleshie Alata Traditional Council to let unity and order prevail during the burial of the late Jamestown Mantse,  Obrempong Nii Kojo Ababio and the installation of a new Chief. 

He said the chieftaincy institution is critical in government's quest to promote peace and unity in the country. 

Therefore, the various Traditional Councils must ensure that there is order in everything they do in their communities. 

Mr. Dzamesi said this when he paid a courtesy call on members of the Ngleshie Alata Traditional Council. 

He used the occasion to sign a book of condolence in memory of the late Jamestown Mantse, Oblempong Kojo Ababio. 

Mr. Dzamesi urged the chiefs to be strong in this moment of bereavement.

The Registrar of the Ngleshie Alata Traditional Council, Vincent D. T. Nartey debunked rumours that a new chief has already been announced to succeed Oblempong Nii Kojo Ababio.

He said there are procedures to be followed before installing a new chief.

He also said anyone who claims to be qualified as a chief must be legally gazette.
