Deputy Health Minister ends Volta Regional tour 

The Deputy Minister of Health, Tina Mensah has ended a three day official tour of health facilities in the Volta Region with an assurance to help address the issue of inadequate ambulance services in country. 

The tour was to gather first-hand information on challenges confronting the provision of quality healthcare delivery in the Region. 

The nationwide tour by the leadership of the health ministry and other key stakeholders is to identify key challenges confronting quality healthcare delivery across the Regions. 

The first stop of the Deputy Health Minister, Tina Mensah and her entourage was the Gbi traditional area, where they paid a curtsey call on Togbega Gaabusu. Togbega Gaabusu drew the deputy minister’s attention to the deplorable nature of road networks leading to and within the Hohoe municipality as this has negative effects on healthcare delivery. 

The team then toured the Hohoe Municipal hospital where they visited the laboratory, blood bank, OPD, emergency children's ward, and the antenatal unit of the hospital. 

The Medical Superintendent, Dr. Pius Mensah appealed for expansion of some wards and improvement of logistics to complement their efforts to deliver quality health care. 

The Deputy Health Minister, Tina Mensah, commended staff and management of the hospital for their dedication and commitment to work.

Madam Mensah later met with the health managers across the Region and assured them their concerns will be addressed immediately.
