GFA not immune to corruption probe - Parliament's Committee 

The Chairman of Youth and Sport Committee of Parliament, Alex Kofi Agyekum says the action taken by government to arrest the Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, on allegation of fraud goes to nullify the perception that the GFA cannot be investigated because it is independent of government.

Mr. Agyekum told host Ibrahim Kwarteng on our news and current affairs programme, ‘Behind the News’ that the GFA cannot be said to be entirely independent because it draws its consolidated fund from government. Moreso, government sponsors activities of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. 

He called on the Police CID to thoroughly investigate the issues levelled against Mr Nyantakyi.

Mr Agyekum said, the public, particularly the community will be watching with its eagle eyes to see how the case is handled following recent cases of corruption the country has been faced with.
