Tax stamps to be affixed on textiles from June 2018

The Ministry of Trade and Industry will from the 1st of next month introduce the affixing of tax stamps on all textiles in the country. 

This is to solve the problem of piracy which workers of local textiles manufacturing companies have been agitating about for some time now. 

Addressing the media after a crunch meeting with leadership of the various Workers Unions of the companies in Accra, the Sector Minister, Allan Kyeremanten said government is committed to working assiduously to ensure that local textile companies thrive.
