Mepe Traditional Council calls on JJ Rawlings About 25 member delegation from Mepe Traditional Council and The Family of the late Mamaga Awusi Sreku lll of North Tongu District have called on the former President, Jerry John Rawlings. The delegation led by Queen of Mafi Traditional Area, Mamaga Sename lll visited the former Leader in his Accra Ridge Residence to officially announce the death, the final funeral rites of Queen of Mape Traditional Area Mamaga Awusi Sreku lll and invited him accordingly, to the funeral. According to The Team, the burial service of Mamaga who reined for about Seven (7) decades is slated for Saturday, 18th August, 2018 at Mape Presbyterian Church of Ghana at 8am and private interment is on the same day, but there will be a pre-burial rites on Friday, August 17,2018 at Mape-Adzigo from 7am to 6pm. Flt. Lt. Rawlings gladly accepted the invitation, he promised to support and attend the funeral if he's "well enough on that day". He asked The Council, The family, elders of The Area and The MP to come together to give The Old Lady a befitting burial. He however, expressed worry over how death is rampant nowadays and admonished all, especially leaders to uphold the truth and integrity at all times, " for you don't know when your maker will call you". "I, will go heaven when I die", he sounds prophetic. The MP for The Area and The Host of The Delegation, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa pledged his commitments to support the funeral, acknowledging the fact that, "Mamaga was my chief advisor, counselling and encouraging me at the time I was deciding to become an MP". According to him, this is a celebration of life and they are going to celebrate her even in her death for been a mother to the entire Traditional Area and beyond.
