E/R Chiefs & Elders commended for releasing lands to 9BS for developmental projects Chiefs and elders in some parts of the Eastern Region have been commended for releasing lands for developmental projects in their various communities. Speaking at the launch of Social Responsibility Projects to be undertaken by multi-national company, 9BS International in Koforidua, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Kingsley Asiedu Koranteng, added that, the initiative is a way of giving back to the society. He said, ten Solar Powered Boreholes, six libraries and four clinics will be constructed in New Juaben, Suhum and Lower Manya Krobo Municipalities, the Akwapim South and the Upper West Akim Districts, among others. Mr. Koranteng said, the projects which are expected to be completed in twelve months, will provide innovative solutions for the various communities that have been selected. He noted that the Eastern Region was the second after the Volta Region to benefit from the company’s goodwill and was grateful to the Regional Minister and the Coordinating Council for their cooperation. For his part, the Eastern Regional Minister, Eric Kwakye Darfour, was full of praise for the company and urged others to emulate their example. He promised 9BS International of a conducive environment to operate in the region and asked them to consider other districts and municipalities. The President of Peace and Sports, a non-governmental organisation, Joel Bouzou also said, the projects will immensely help solve some of the problems faced by the communities and commended the company for the initiative. He said, education and sports are very important for the development of any nation and was therefore delighted that the projects will help facilitate the enthusiasm of pupils to learn hard. The Executive Chairman of the company, Yairi Wabadang promised that other parts of the country will have their fair share of projects in subsequent years. He said, the provision of the boreholes, clinics and libraries are aimed at solving real situational problems facing the various districts and municipalities and asked other companies to lend helping hands to put smiles on the faces of people in dire need.
