Stop creating panic, fear about Ebola- Ghana Health Service

The Head of Public Relations of the Ghana Health Service, Mrs. Rebecca Ackwonu, says the service is surprised about why anybody or groups would want to cause public panic and fear by faking the outbreak of Ebola in the country.  

Speaking to Radio Ghana, Mrs. Ackwonu said the service is monitoring the situation and would inform the public in case there is an outbreak. 

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health has refuted reports of an outbreak of Ebola in the country.  

It says the report is false and misleading and that there is no such incidence of Ebola in Ghana. 

In a statement the Ministry said surveillance has been intensified following developments in DR Congo.  

It therefore assured the public of its safety, while urging the media to use its  space for public education rather than causing fear and panic.
