GHIPSS to roll out phase two of mobile money interoperability The Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems, GHIPSS, will in two months roll out phase two of the mobile money interoperability following the successful implementation of phase one. Phase two will allow cash flows among Telcos, Bank and E-zwich platforms in a seamless manner. Deputy Minister for Communication, George Andah, said this on GBC’s Current Affairs Programme, “Talking Point,” on "Mobile Money Interoperability". He said upon completion of phase two, customers will be able to transfer monies from their bank accounts to mobile money accounts, as well as pay for goods and services. According to Mr. Andah, this will help to stop corruption at the ports, and public institutions as it will eliminate human involvement in payment of services. He also urged the banks to be innovative and develop applications that will make them relevant. The Director of Zeepay Mobile Financial Services, Andrew Takyi- Appiah, asked GHIPSS to put in place measures so that their systems are not compromised. He said all players must begin to map out ways to protect the data of customers in order not to violate Data Protection Act 843. GBCONLINE ---DECRYPTED---
