Stop dangerous practices – Amewu tells multinational companies in mining 

Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, John Peter Amewu, has warned multinational companies against indulging in dangerous practices in the mining sector.

He said government will not compromise on good mining practices adding it will ensure that safety and quality of work at mining sites are not compromised. 

Mr. Amewu gave the warning when the six-member committee set up by the Minister to investigate the collapse of the concrete roof at the Ahafo mines of Newmont which killed six people presented their report to him. 

He said government is going to study the report and will implement the recommendations.

Mr Amewu said as a country, there are rules and regulations governing any sector which all companies including local companies must adhere to.
