GHS to introduce Injectable Polio vaccine in Ghana

Ghana Health Service is to introduce an injectable polio vaccine in addition to the oral one which has helped to reduce the disease drastically since 2008.

Speaking to Radio Ghana's Theresa Owusu-Ako, the Manager of the Expanded Programme on Immunisation, EPI, Dr George Bonsu said globally it has been observed that all countries need to add one more doze to the oral one.
 
The injectable vaccine will serve a dual purpose.
