National Peace Council has advised the Committee to investigate the Police-Military clash in Tamale to thread cautiously in handling the situation

The Northern Regional Security Council, REGSEC has set up a committee to investigate the clashes between the police and military in Tamale. The clash which started after a soldier accused of assaulting a taxi driver bolted left at least eight people injured. REGSEC after a meeting held yesterday warned that anyone found culpable in Wednesday's incident will be punished. 

The Northern Regional Minister Salifu Saed, said the region has its security challenges and will not accept any acts of indiscipline from security personnel.

He noted that, the two institutions are collaborating on various security issues in the region and therefore any conflict between them is a cause for concern. He challenged police and military commanders in the region to reign in their subordinates and ensure the peace and security of the region. 

Meanwhile a delegation from the Ministries of Defense and Interior took turns to assure the public that what happened will not be repeated.
