Soldiers go berserk, attack police officers, residents in Tamale - Reports

Some soldiers in the Northern Regional capital, of Tamale on Wednesday, went berserk, attacking police officers and some residents, following the arrest of their colleague. That's according to reports.

Narrating the incident, on CitiFM's current Affairs Programme, "Eye Witness News, a journalist with a local FM "Diamond FM", Mohammed Ibn Arthur said the soldiers launched the attack in protest of their colleague who they alledged was arrested for attacking a taxi driver.

According to Mr. Arthur, this is about the third time such an incident has occurred in the area.

He said similar incidents involving the military and police officers have been recorded in other regions.
