Calm returns to Kwame Danso in Bono Ahafo

Police at Kwame Danso in the Sene West District of the Brong Ahafo Region say calm has returned to the area after a standoff between the youth of two farming communities and the Police. 

The youth were demanding the release of their colleagues who have been arrested. 

The Regional Police PRO, Chief Inspector Augustine Oppong told Ibrahim Kwarteng on GBC’s Current Affairs Programme “Behind The News,” that based on the persistent demands by the irate youth, the police had to release those in their custody to be produced at a later date. 

He said it was not an act of fear by the police but the use of tact and intelligence.
