Accident kills three on Takoradi-Cape Coast Highway

Three people have been killed and several others injured in a head-on collision between an Aflao-Elubo bound Yutong bus carrying 53 passengers with registration number Freedom 1-15 and a tipper truck with registration number GE 3350-14 driving from Inchaban direction to Beposo near Assorko Essamun.

The accident occurred at 4.15am (local time) on Wednesday, May 16.

The accident happened at a spot where a new road ramp was under construction by the Ghana Highways Authority. 

Three people were confirmed dead at the scene while several others who were seriously injured have been rushed to St Benedict Hospital and Effia Nkwanta Hospital respectively for treatment.

GBC's Western Regional correspondent Marie Aziz Tunde reports that, the vehicles have been towed from the scene and the road cleared for free flow of traffic.
