Patrick Missah officially inducted as New DG of Prisons Service

The Director-General of the Ghana Prisons Service, Patrick Darko Missah, has officially been inducted into office.  

He has been acting in that capacity since March last year (2017), and was confirmed in February this year (2018).  

The induction service was held at the Prison Headquarters in Accra.  

Patrick Darko Missah, was enlisted into the Ghana Prison Service in October, 1988 as an Officer Cadet, and commissioned as an Assistant Superintendent of Prisons in April, 1989.  

He holds a Master of Philosophy Degree in Agricultural Extension from the University of Ghana.  

Mr. Missah served in various positions including Deputy Director-General of Prison in charge of Operations, Director-In-Charge of Welfare, Agriculture and Human Resource Development.  

The Deputy Minister for the Interior and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso Central, Henry Quartey presented Mr. Missah for the induction service which was officiated by the Chaplain - Ghana Prisons, Apostle CSP James Teye Tetteh. 

In a sermon, the Senior Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Fred Degbe  said leadership is key for the success of every organisation and called on all in leadership position to sacrifice for the good of society.

The Director-General of Ghana Prisons Service, Patrick Darko Missah, promised to ensure that activities of the service, meet international standards inspite of the numerous operational challenges.

He stressed the need for effective collaboration with other institutions both public and private to enhance the activities of the Ghana Prisons Service.
