Integrate HIV-AIDS education in school curriculum - National AIDS Control Programme

The Ghana AIDS Commission and the National AIDS Control Programme will soon make a case for the inculcation of the learning of HIV/AIDS prevention in all school curriculum. 

The move is to ensure that students get to know more about the disease as its knowledge is going down. 

The call comes at a time when the prevalence of HIV/AIDS among children is becoming high.

The Manager of the National AIDS and STI's Control Programme, Dr. Stephen Ayisi Addo made this known at the closing ceremony of the 2018 National HIV and AIDS Research Conference in Accra.

According to him, there is the need to intensify education about the disease from scratch in order to bring the prevalence rate to the barest minimum.

Dr. Ayisi Addo called for the operationalization of the AIDS fund to help in its education drive. 

He said the current 0.5% allocation to the fund is inadequate.
