Local government ministry implements IGF programme in 38 MMDAs

The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, with support from GIZ is implementing an accelerated internally generated fund programme in 38 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies, MMDAs. 

The Minister of Local Government, Hajiah Alima Mahama announced this at the Meet the Press series in Accra.

She said currently districts are just collecting about 21 percent of revenue. 

Hajiah Mahama mentioned another area that District Assemblies can generate revenue from.

The MMDAs are being assessed based on their revenue implementation action plans.
