Come together to bury Torgbui Hor II: President Nana Addo urges Somey Chiefs President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has urged The Chiefs and elders of The Somey Traditional Area in the Ketu South Municipal Assembly of The Volta Region to come together to bury the late Makorsor of The Area, Torgbui Hor II as planned. According to him, seemingly division ahead of the burial and final funeral rites of the late Torgbui is not good, it must solved immediately it escalates. Addressing about 25 member delegation from Somey, led by The Senior Divisional Chief and Chairman of Funeral Planning Committee, Torgbui Sape Agbo (V), Torgbui Addo VIII of The Klikor Traditional Council plus three (3) children of the late Torgbui, at the Jubilee House, on 4th May, 2018, The President has instructed The Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Kofi Dzamesi, to bring both parties together for the funeral. Also with the delegation were: The MCE for The Area, Edem Elliot Agbenorwu, some Queens and Some Senior Citizens from Adafienu, Hedranawo, Nogokpo, Klikor and Agbozume. According to President Nana Addo, two petitions, one from the Children of the late Makorsor and the other from Committee of Dumegawo of Somey have come to his office, among other things calling on him to solve the alleged ongoing misunderstanding among some elders and some children over who to supervise the funeral. The Jubilees House however accepted the invitation, "your invitation to the funeral is well received. I may not be in the Country on that day but I'll be well represented." He directed the Chieftaincy Minister to liaise with The Funeral Planning Committee and children to plan some supporting package for the funeral. Meanwhile, a letter from Denu High Court has it that, both parties in the matter of interlocutory injunction pending before it must be heard in court before the funeral...."By court: Counsel for the Defendants has written to the court that, he has just been engaged and need a short time to meet his clients." According to letter signed by Justice of The High Court, H/L Alex Owusu-Ofori (Mr) "there is an application before the court seeking to injunct the Defendants from carrying out the burial and funeral rites of Torgbui Hor II who died about six (6) years ago". He said, "the funeral is slated from 14th to 19th May, 2018 when Counsel for the Defendants is to appear before the court on 22nd May, 2018." The Court further directed "the application is yet to be moved so the court ordered that until both parties are heard, NOBODY should perform any burial and funeral rites of the late Torgbui Hor II.
