National Labour Commission finally gets Board 

President Akufo-Addo says government will ensure serenity on the Labour front in order to create the atmosphere for rapid economic development.

Speaking at the swearing in of a seven member board of the National Labour Commission, President Akufo Addo charged them to be neutral and impartial in resolving disputes on the Labour front. 

The Board is chaired by Andrew Kwabena Asamoah. Other members are kwame Ofori Gyau, Rose Karkari Anang, Francis Kofi Davoh, Fedelis Seddoh, Nkrabeah Effah Dartey and James Krufi Nuamah. 

President Akufo Addo noted that strikes in Ghana are becoming common and this affects not only the economy but, businesses and employees as well. 

Relationships between government as the employer and organised labour could become strained and this could affect revenue generation through taxation. 

Businesses also suffer production and financial losses and consumer confidence is adversely affected. 

Describing the role of Organised Labour as strategic to the economy, President Akufo Addo said Labour holds the key to the future prosperity of the nation. It is in this regard that government will endeavour to ensure good relations with Labour.

Board Chairman of the newly sworn NLC, Andrew Kwabena Asamaoh said the commission will ensure a peaceful and harmonious Labour front.
