New HIV infection goes up by 21% across all ages 

The Director of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation at the Ghana AIDS Commission, Kyeremeh Atuahene, says the rate at which new HIV infections are being recorded is worrying.  

He said between 2010 and 2016 new infections went up by 21% across all ages.  

Mr. Kyeremeh said the trend will economically affect the nation as more cost will be involved.  

Speaking at a training workshop for Journalists in Accra, he called for a concerted effort in the campaign against the spread of HIV. 

Mr. Kyeremeh discouraged persons living with HIV from the use of herbal medication, emphasizing that there is no cure for HIV.
