Sammy Crabbe prevented from picking NPP nomination forms 

Suspended second vice chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Crabbe was yesterday (May 4), prevented from picking nomination forms to contest elections in the upcoming national delegates congress. 

Popular NPP supporter known as Hajia Fati screamed invectives at Crabbe, and ensured that he was never given the forms.

Reacting to the incident, acting General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu, said Mr. Crabbe, cannot be allowed to contest in the party’s upcoming election to choose national executives. 

He said per the NPP’s laws, Mr. Crabbe remains suspended and cannot contest in the election. 

The NPP opened nominations on Thursday (May 3), to allow national executive position hopefuls to pick forms to contest in the race.  

Mr. Crabbe was suspended in 2015 around the same time the party’s National Chairman, Paul Afoko and General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong were suspended for various acts of misconduct.  

Mr. Crabbe was deemed to have publicly rebelled against the party’s decision to indefinitely suspend Paul Afoko.
