End state sponsored acts that restrict practice of Journalism - President President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has asked media practitioners to guard against fabrication of facts and deliberate misinformation. He said these acts are major threats to the integrity of the news world and have the potential of weakening the media landscape. Speaking in Accra at a dinner to usher in World Press Freedom Day, President Akufo-Addo called for an end to state sponsored acts that seek to restrict the practice of Journalism. Egyptian Journalist, Mahmoud Zeid, also known as Shawkhan, who is in jail for taking photos in Egypt, was awarded for his contribution to the defense of Press Freedom and promotion of freedom of speech.
