MFWA marks World Press Freedom Day

The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), an NGO based in Accra has held a regional meeting with the media to discuss press freedom and media development in West Africa to mark World Press Freedom Day. 

The meeting, among others, deliberated on identifying key challenges in the area of freedom of expression and strategies for tackling them.

Speaking at the meeting, the UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Opinion and Expression, David Kaye said defamation should be de-criminalised in Africa.
