The Minister of State in charge of tertiary education, Professor Kwesi Yankah, says government will relieve private tertiary institutions of policies that hinder their efforts to achieve full university status. According to Professor Yankah, the stress and difficulties private universities go through will be a thing of the past as government takes steps to liberate them. Professor Yankah, was speaking at a send-off party held on his behalf as former Vice-Chancellor of the Central University College. He reiterated government’s commitment to help private tertiary education by the 25 percent tax-waiver to private universities. The Chancellor of Central University, Dr. Mensah Otabil, thanked Professor Yankah for his service to the University describing him as a man of peace and a gentleman he enjoyed working with.
