Patronise 'National Entrepreneurship Division Policy' for support - Minister of Business Development

The Minister of Business Development, Dr Mohammed Awal, has urged young people not to fear to start-up their own businesses.  

He noted that 75% of businesses set up do not survive for three years because the owners lack mentorship, funding and innovation. 

Dr Awal, said his Ministry has identified three key challenges facing the youth in Ghana which include difficulty in accessing business advisory and innovation services, access to affordable funding and access to markets.   

In that regard, government has established the National Entrepreneurship Division Plan NEDP, which would provide business advisory services to young entrepreneurs.  

Dr Awal made the remarks when he met 250 young entrepreneurs at the Youth Entrepreneurship Forum at the Accra Digital Centre, in Accra. 

The forum was to discuss Ghana’s economic challenges and measures government is putting in place to create jobs for the youth.  

Dr Awal said the NEDP last year, offered advisory services to more than seven thousand young business owners and is in the process of offering financial advisory services to between 500 and a thousand entrepreneurs on mentorship for the next three years.  

The Minister assured the youth that the NEDP offices are always open to assist you and provide advisory services.  

Modules under the NEDP, include Women Entrepreneurship, Youth Entrepreneurship and Physically-Handicapped Business People.
